Australian Heritage Restorations recently completed a restoration project at the Murrurundi Train Station, located in the Upper Hunter region of New South Wales. The work involved restoring the original slate roof, which had suffered significant damage over time due to weathering and decay. The team also repaired and repainted the original timber windows and doors, ensuring that they are both functional and visually appealing. In addition, AHR restored the station’s distinctive chimneys to their former glory, using traditional methods and materials. The result is a beautifully restored heritage site that will continue to serve the community for years to come.
